Elements of Music:

Improvisation

• Students will be able to imitate, improvise, and write using iconic/standard notation simple rhythmic/melodic patterns on various instruments

Rotating Instrument Skills:
Harmonic Instruments
and Chords

• Students will be able to play recorders, ukuleles, barred instruments (mallets), and drums with proper performance decorum and audience etiquette

• Students will be able to perform simple two-chord progressions (I-V, I-IV) on various instruments individually and/or as a group.

Elements of Music 2:

Melody/Background (Harmony)

• Students will be able to identify and distinguish the melody and the background (Harmony) of a musical work.
